I have live here almost 30 years, and did not know about half of these. Thank you very much for the article. It was really informative! The pictures are great too.

For locals I suggest joining the Montecito Trails Foundation (listed in the phone book). With membership comes a map of the entire front country trail system. Dues are used to keep 300 miles of trails cleared and safe; the board works diligently to aquire new ones. MTF is a non-profit organization
