Although it is rare to see her, I saw her one fiesta out with only a couple people. She came to Papagallos, and had drinks at the inner bar. Security closed the entrance so that more people could not enter, but i was already inside and right next to her. She had little make up on, looking quite different, but she was really nice in person. One of my fiesta memories!

I think she deserves some privacy and neighbors who respect her. She has done a lot for the world and keeps trying to get everyone else to "live their best life". Watch out for the Quaids Oprah!

I met a woman who lives on Lemon Grove Lane in Montecito, half blk from Mont. Union School. A couple of years ago, her little girl was walking to school when Oprah and her trainer came walking along (excercise). Oprah stopped to talk and the girl said, "My Mom will be so excited, she just loves you." Oprah walked her to school and went in to say hello to the class. Another friend said her daughter goes to Girls, Inc in Santa Barbara. Oprah did a fundraiser for them but first had each girl talk to her privately to tell what they liked about Girls, Inc., I guess to make sure the kids enjoyed it and were benifiting. Friend's daughter said she was really nice.

She sounds like a pretty good Santa Barbara neighbor to me. Give her some privacy even if you see her out & about.

I didn't think anyone was left in SB/Montecito who didn't know where she lives! She's pretty low key. I've seen her in Starbucks in Montecito a couple of times. More often, I see Steadman and then I see her in the car in the parking lot of places around town. I guess it's easier for him to run in and grab something than for both of them to go in together.

I still think it was her about the time she moved here cupped a bill in my hand at Circle K, while I was recycling a few years back. And no I did not take the money.

She's not Howard Hughes for gawd sake. I've seen her several times. I find it appalling that you would actually print someone's address and call it a tourist attraction. Are you trying to get more lame tourists to come to S.B. to stalk celebrities? Taaaacky indeed!

While I agree this might be an invasion of privacy, I humbly admit I read every word with interest. OK, so shame on me. In any case she seems like a great person and a wonderful, kind, generous neighbor.

With all of Oprah's resources, I wonder why she would want to have a home in L.A. when she could commute back and forth from S.B. in her own helicopter instead and avoid the 101 altogether? Just curious.

My thoughts exactly, 139030 - With all that property, she could just get quick approval from the county/city & pop in a start-of-the-art helipad. Next, grab a new jet-powered helo and transit back & forth to LA or Burbank to the waiting limo. Easy peasy.

Uh-oh - Publishing a celebrity address...wasn't this how the whole News-Press thing started? Will the EdHat staff soon be picketing in front of the historic EdHat Building? Will Craig Smith fill his column with endless insider comments about Rodger, Billy, Ms Lemonjelly, Neal, the Wiley's, Powdrell and the rest of the EdHat family? Will the Edhat dog be subpoenaed and forced to tell all?

We have quite a few celebrities up here in the Santa Ynez Valley. Please do not start to divulge their addresses. We already have a major traffic problem since the Chumash Casino expanded and don't need more lookie-loos!

LOL. I like how 139027 threatens to never advertise here again, when we can see he doesn't even have a paid subscription.

To all who disapprove -- I heartily agree. Please Edhat, don't turn into a tacky celebrity gossip rag. All celebrities have a right to privacy. This is not what I was looking for when I paid for my subscription and I hope not to see it anymore. If it continues, I will not renew.

Imagine putting her address on the Internet .. the shame! Go to Google, type in "Oprah address Montecito". You don't even need to click. Should we ask Google to take down that link?

If you don't know where oprah lives in the first place, your out to lunch. give it a rest people. she is a very power full person in this world. posting her address will do nothing. She has a frigging guard and gates. Do we have that many nut cases on edhat to fear for a stocker? Do we not know where all famous people live in town already? This is what goes along with fame. Yep, all it takes is $13 and you can feel like you have the right to tell Edhat what to do!
