It's definitely a Zombiecat. They get that way from drinking water from the toilet. Toilet water goes down fine for a while but then the feline's system reaches saturation all at once and the house cat goes through a complicated metabolic change and - poof - becomes nocturnal, spotted, and has glowing orbs instead of eyes. Really. I read it on the Internet.

Anybody that can google and aimage on a Bob Cat can clearly see this isn't one. I've seen many local bobcat's and this doesn't come close to fitting the description.

Pretty sure it's a bobcat, but the head does look strange- disproportionately small with largish ears and a pronounced nose. Camera angle and IR can do weird things, though. Also, bobcats puff out their face fur when scared, which would make their heads look bigger most times people are seeing them, but not on a game cam.

No house cat has powerful hind legs like that. And looking at the surrounding brush it appears that this one is much larger than any house cat.

Boy, some you you need to get out more! That's as much a Bob Cat as it is a Great White Shark! It's a house cat and it's tail is facing back making it look shorter than it is. IF that's a Bob it has the skinniest legs and smallest paws I have ever seen on one! Somebody mentioned that the head is too small for a house cat, um... Bob Cats heads are much larger in proportion to their bodies. (And certainly much larger than a house cat's)

Well I just love the back and forth here, everyone's so sure about it, one way or the other. Tail looks too long to me, does seem to be curling away into the darkness. Head looks too small also--to be what? To be a bobcat. But the body is so hefty, legs so long, big strong rear legs, spotty coat--those say bobcat. Can't see the feet very well, but they don't look very big. My guess is a big house cat.

It's a seriously over-fed house cat with photo taken with electronic zoom and poor pixel count. Seriously people. Trick photography, even when accidental, creates UFOs and Lockness monsters. This ain't no BigFoot.

I thought it could be a young mountain lion too, but the spots are wrong- way too small for anything other than a bobcat. Even a Bengal or one of those other house cat-wild cat hybrids would have bigger spots. Also, the tail on a mountain lion would be much thicker. Too bad you can't see the feet, but the legs look too thick to be a house cat.

There are newer breeds of cats, mostly crossed with the African Serval, which is about the size of a bobcat but with less heavy bone structure/musculature. The domestic crosses are of Serval and Tabby, with the markings most often being more leopard-like than striped like a tabby. Of course tabby markings vary, as do head shapes and ear sizes, so not all Bengals (smaller crosses) and Savannahs (the larger crosses) look alike. Some have very large ears for the head, but most all heads are smaller in proportion to the body, as in the photo. The tails of some lines of Savannahs are short as in the photo. They are not snubbed as a bobcats' would be, but about 1/2 length of a normal cat tail, tapering normally to a point. Tails are often very distinctly ringed. There is a Savannah breeder in SB, a vet named Kristin Filseth. Perhaps she could look at the photo and might even know if a local Savannah or Serval has turned up missing. link to video of Serval to show size: http://www.youtube.com/watch? v=l44SbDg9H78&feature=related
