Children's Day/Book Day Program Celebrates Reading
Saturday April 28, 2012

The Santa Barbara Public Library System invites families and children to the annual Día de los Niños/Día de los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) celebration on Saturday, April 28 from 10:30 am to noon in the Faulkner Gallery of the Santa Barbara Central Library, 40 E. Anapamu St. Often referred to simply as "Día," this event is a celebration of children, families, literacy and libraries. Its goals are to honor children, languages and cultures, to encourage reading and literacy, and to promote library collections and programs that reflect our diverse community. The Día festivities this year will include Mariachi music, storytime, arts and crafts, library tours and more!

Registration is NOT required for this free program. For more information, contact the Santa Barbara Central Library at 805-564-5603. Deckers Corporation, Marborg Industries and Santa Cruz Markets have provided generous support for this family program.

Visit the library system's website SBPLibrary.org to find out about this and other programs at the Santa Barbara Public Libraries. All library programs are FREE and open to the public.
