Switchplate
by Kevin Loughran
I build long term solutions for living graciously in a plastic world. I have been forming, etching and patinating metals into art for the past 25 years. I like to take the mundane in everyday objects and pay respect to their marvelous functions. That is why I presently work in switch plates, doorbells, and dimmers; to honor the beauty of the small things in our lives.
Kevin Loughran was born in 1948 in Lancaster, New Hampshire. He lives and works in Gaviota. He attended Dartmouth College, Sculpture Studies (1967); Waseda University, Kokusaibu, Tokyo (1968-69); Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, (BA, History, 1975).
More of Kevin's work can also be seen on his website.
