Cat of the Week - 08/02/09

Deuce Trey

Terrible Two

Deuce and Trey Cleveland, the *Terrible Two*, are two special-needs rescue kittens from separate litters that found their way to their new mommy's home and heart through different paths. Deuce was the kitten of a stray and injured himself by becoming wedged beneath a cabinet door in a shed. He was hypothermic and sustained brain trauma in addition to scraping off his whiskers and some facial fur as he was trapped against a concrete floor.

After some attention from wonderful vets and lots of TLC from his mommy, he is a healthy, happy little boy who thinks he's Rambo. His new brother, Trey, came to the Cleveland home a month later. Abandoned by his mother, Trey was a frightened, furry huddle of skin and bones when his new mommy brought him inside before a bad storm. He required a little more vet care and TLC than his brother did, but now he and Deuce are energetic playmates and loving buddies. They have three older sisters, Melanie, Chelsie, and Elly Fae, and an older brother, Joey, who was Cat of the Week for Halloween 2006. Joey takes his big-brother duties seriously ~ playing with his brothers, intervening when they wrestle too rambunctiously, and protecting them from their less-than-enthusiastic sisters.
