I am looking for a reliable local plumber. They must be timely and able to finish the job in an expedient manner, and return calls.

R. J. Carroll & Sons ....a local family business. We've always used them. Honest, courteous and they get the job done. We had a pipe burst inside the wall while away on a trip and they came out immediately and followed up with repairing the wall as well...excellent work.

It depends on who at Carroll Plumbing does the work. I had one of their employees a couple of years ago who was not competent or at least he was friends with my tenant and way overcharged on the amount of time. I won't have them again and am looking for another plumber. Keep a careful eye on how much time the plumber is actually on the job.

Specialty Plumbing is the best in town, but you sound high maintenance so I'd say call someone else. I'd hate to refer you to them and have you drive them nuts with ridiculous requests.

I am not high maintenance. I promise. We are pleasant people who pay immediately. We simply expect skilled tradespeople to return calls in a timely manner and, barring emergency calls or jobs taking longer than planned (it happens), to show up when they say they will. While we have had good plumbers in the past it has been our unfortunate experience that many of them simply don't return phone calls. That is the most frustrating part. We call and leave a message. We call hours later and leave a message. (These are all pleasant.) We call a day or two later and leave a message. We don't get angry or abusive because that is not us. But it is frustrating! We are more than understanding of being busy, but we also expect a professional response, a brief phone call if nothing else. If that says "high maintenance" or "must" then it would not be a good match.

I just did a quick phonebook check and there is R.J.Carroll & Sons and also Carroll Plumbing...perhaps a relative? We have used R.J. Carroll & Sons...maybe the unsatisfied poster used the other? 4 votes so far for Carroll & Sons, you won't go wrong with them.

Just had a very good experience with Jim Flores & Son Plumbing. Actually answered his cell phone at my first call. I'd gotten the number from a friend who had been very satisfied with him. Came next day (a Friday) as promised to see what needed to be done. We set a time the following week and his crew was right on time. Finished the job in two days (replacing a water line from the meter to a guest house).

There are 2 Carroll Plumbing's -- I like Carroll Plumbing and Maintenance. 805-284-9953. - Not only do they return calls, they call when they can come early to see if it's convenient. I also found them to be very reasonable in price. They are did some work on a remodel for me, and as we were planning it the Jay the owner stopped by to just give me advice on how to plan things to save money.

I use Stewarts plumbing have always had a good experience with them, Carrolls is great as well. Stewarts is less expensive still same great quality so I usually call them 1st.

Jim Flores & Son's are great - 9685117. Polite, honest, local. They have done work at our home and we were always very happy with what was done. Carroll Plumbing not so much. We used them at my work and had numerous problems with unauthorized work being done. I would not recommend them.

I too highly recommend Quick Response plumbing. Bobby the owner always answers his phone and will call you back in an hour if he doesn't. If you truly have an emergency, he will find a way to get to it right away. Not to mention he is very polite and courteous. 896-2937.

Yes on Goodland, Richard Wickman, Anderson Systems-ask for Dick Briner and his crew, yes on Jim Flores. Construction Plumbing- ask for Thad Haines.
I work the most with Dick Briner and his crew. Wickman and his fantastic memory have helped out a lot on a large project. I worked with Goodland on one job and they were fast, competent and communicative with the other trades.

It is hard to find service folks that are prompt at returning calls. We had some luck using Ted's Plumbing at 259-8921, but he has been a bit slow on call back recently.
Have, in my opinion, gotten "attitude" and questionable practices from County Sanitation dba Stewarts De-rooting and won't be using them again.
Good luck, it is a jungle of pipes out there!

I called Bob at George the Rooter Man and he picked up the first time. He came at the time he said, was very professional, quick and had a reasonable rate. He also did not charge extra for a weekend call. Highly recommend.
