Rocker Repair
updated: Jul 26, 2011, 9:39 AM
Anybody know where I can take a glider-rocker (chair) for repair? The ball bearings are shot. It's almost 30 yrs.old, but in good shape, I hate to part with it.

Try Woolfolks at 316 E Cota St; they do good quality furniture repair and it they don't fix bearings, they'll probably know where you can take it.

Try Barry at 682-5133. He's honest. Restored my 60's Windsor wood rocker beautifully.

I discovered that our local ACE hardware store (in Meiner's Oaks, near Ojai) carried the exact size of inexpensive replacement bearings for our glider chair, in their "furniture parts" section. If you are comfortable pulling the bearing out and checking at an ACE store you might get lucky!
