Native Plant Gardener
updated: Sep 25, 2011, 3:31 PM

I am looking for a gardener to work on CA native/Mediterranean plants, not someone who prunes plants into cute little balls. No lawn.

Owen Dell is a native/Mediterranean plant expert and a landscaper and a very nice guy.

You should be looking for an artist, and a gardener. And expect to pay top dollar.

Plowboy Landscapes (Ventura) knows how to take care of natives. 805-643-4966.

Congratulations on breaking out of the "stepford yard" syndrome.. FYI the SB Botanical Garden kicks off the annual fall plant sale this weekend with natives galore.

I second OWEN DELL. He's the best.

Dan39: not necessarily. Only a gardener who has ability and aesthetics. E.g., Diane Siegel 886-2646.

I don't have a gardener (other than myself) and don't know Dan39's work, but from his photographs he has the soul of an artist and he is a gardener. Why don't you contact him? (And I would agree that the best (of anything) costs a lot.) Isn't Owen Dell more of a head of a company, an excellent one, than a gardener himself?

I recommend an excellent gardener/landscaper - educated, careful, knows her subject. She is easy to talk with, plan with and understand; her prices are reasonable. Arianna Jansma 689-1562

Call Island Seed and Feed for a referral. For over 20 years they have been the to go to resource for everyone involved with natives, and organic or sustainable gardening.

I think I've lost the loving feeling, please contact Owen, Daniel @Wilson, Diane, or Arianna.

However, if you have slides that need to be scanned, I'm your man.

Dan
