USS Iowa

The USS Iowa begins a 4-day journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles to serve as a floating museum. Does anyone know when it will be off of the Santa Barbara coast, and if it will be visible from shore?

I read in an LA Times article that they would be towing Iowa well offshore to have lots of sea room to maneuver, so you probably won't be able to spot it from shore. You might find it on one of the AIS ship tracking sites like: http://www.oc.nps.edu/~cwmiller/AIS/

I googled USS Iowa and it is still in the SF bay area because of bad weather.

The Iowa will be towed some ways out to sea, not going through the SB Channel, per the LA Times.
